What would be so awful about a North American currency union?

Please don’t say “loss of sovereignty,” as that is circular. If Canada, Mexico, and the US were to form a regional currency block, all 3 countries would necessarily be sacrificing some sovereignty; however, that does not constitute an argument against such an arrangement.
